Website Accessibility Checking

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an internationally recognised set of guidelines for improving web accessibility.

It is a legal requirement in the UK that all web sites operated by the public sector (local authorities, government bodies etc.) meet the WCAG AA standard.

It is also important for non-government body websites to be accessible to a wide audience, expanding your reach to a broader client base.

West March Systems can check through your website using various tools to assess the accessibility of your website and provide you with a report of what is required for you to meet the WCAG AA standard for your site.

The check includes:

  • Keyboard Navigation
  • Colour Contrasts
  • Menu Navigation
  • Buttons and Links
  • Zooming and collapsing pages
  • Page structure
  • Content skipping
  • Correct text, image and element Labeling
  • Correct use of accessibility attributes
  • PEN (penetration) security check

The check is designed to identify adjustments needed to help ensure WCAG 2.1 AA standard is maintained.
